I AM DEEPLY ENAMOURED WITH THE BOOK COVER.

A book is inherently a container for language. In this sense, the cover is incidental; it is a visual interpretation that is structurally outside the text and cannot alter it. It teases, it frames, it attempts to sell, but there is undeniably a separateness. And yet, the cover does condition our reading of the book.

Something is carried by the reader across this irreducible divide and into the text itself. Inside our head, a unique entanglement forms: symbol and referent, Matter and Logos, book-object and book. So here are some I enjoy, mostly read, all possessed (in one form or another), and at hand to lend to those who are kind to them.
